The meeting was
        called to order by President Larry Deedon at 7:10pm
        Treasurer Karl Rymer reported that since the club started, we have
        deposited $1,059.50 in the club account. $574 from dues, $168 from
        raffles and $317 from the sale of knives, strops and yellow powder.
        Expenditures have been $203 for materials to manufacture knives, strops
        and purchase yellow stone, $67.45 for badges and $5.95 for bank checks
        leaving a balance of $783.10 as of June 7, 2001
        Wes Barton and Bob Smith were introduced as first time visitors.
        Rich Knee reported that he had received a call from a Lane County
        Fair representative who was anxious to have our club represented at the
        Fair again this year. She asked if we could man a table on August 17 and
        19. Rich said we need four or five members to help out. He asked that
        volunteers give a call if they are willing to represent the club.
        Larry said Dave Disselbrett from the Salem Club is willing to offer a
        six hour caricature carving class for $15.00 per person. Rich Rombold
        offered his shop for the session. Larry asked for an indication of
        interest from the membership. Further details will be discussed at the
        July meeting.
        A "carve-in" at the EWEB Leaburg Lake picnic area was
        discussed. Based on member interest, it was decided that this will be
        similar to last year’s potluck picnic and will be held on a Saturday
        in August. The specific date will be announced.
        Rich said that Thursday, July 26, 2001 was selected by Woodcraft as a
        carving day demo. They asked that the club provide carvers throughout
        the day.
        A representative from The Chippendale School of Furniture discussed
        some of the classes they are offering. He said Nora Hall will offer a
        wood carving class on August 4th and 5th . He also
        mentioned a ball and claw chair leg carving class for a cost of $60.
